About Me

Why Choose Me?

With over a decade of licensed experience in the bodywork industry,
And As a LANA Certified Lymphedema Therapist
who specializes in plastic surgery recovery,
I can help you with questions about your Recovery

EXTENSIVE EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

As a LANA-Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT-LANA), I hold the highest level of training and proof of knowledge available in the lymphatic discipline (except for the handful of doctors who are dedicated to lymphology – there are very few).

In order to achieve this level of training, one must complete the Certified Lymphedema Therapist training, work for some time, then qualify to sit for the LANA (Lymphology Association of North America) exam.  The exam is extremely challenging and only people who know the very intricate details of lymphatic anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology have the ability to pass this exam.  Note:  a regular massage therapist who is not a CLT cannot even apply to sit for this exam.  The depth and breadth of knowledge for a LANA CLT is a completely different level of training than someone who has a massage license and has taken a few hours of a continuing education course in “lymphatic massage.”

I Attend Actual Plastic Surgeries In Person

My learning is not limited to books.  I attend plastic surgeries to learn exactly what happens under the skin so I can better anticipate what is happening when people come to my office for post-op care.  While sitting in on these various surgeries, I am able to ask questions of the teaching surgeon that helps me to answer the questions of my clients – specifically, why a surgeon chooses this or that technique, which stitches are dissolvable and which aren’t (and why), why people look a bit strange when they first come out of surgery (breasts pointing upwards, for example following a breast lift), and many other things.   This uniquely qualifies me to address your concerns in a way that most other therapists cannot.

I Specialize in Plastic Surgery Recovery

While my education affords me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clientele, my in-office practice where I work about 50-60 hours per week, is focused on plastic surgery recovery.  Since I work with post-op clients day in and day out who have had surgery in places like Miami, Tijuana, the DR, Colombia, etc. I see virtually everything that the plastic surgery market has to offer – and the numerous problems that come with these surgeries.

I Work With Reconstructive Surgeries As Well

Not all plastic surgery is purely cosmetic.  Some plastic surgeons specialize in reconstructive surgery after conditions such as breast cancer.  This is also a group of people I work with on a regular basis.  So, if you are recovering from breast cancer with a mastectomy or lumpectomy with reconstructive surgery to boot, I can help with that also.

Since I have specialized in this for many years, very little surprises me.  If you have an issue and you are concerned, I have likely seen it before.
